Today’s students are struggling more than ever before. Students across all grade levels are facing a variety of challenges that are affecting their mental health, such as online bullying, sexual grooming, drug and alcohol misuse, and the unexpected deaths of loved ones from COVID-19.
Dr. Drew Pinsky, known nationally as Dr. Drew, has been a ubiquitous fixture both on television and radio for the entirety of his multi-faceted career. The combination of running a thriving medical practice (he still treats patients!), while simultaneously cultivating a successful media career, has resulted in an unprecedented reservoir of expertise. His work as a doctor of internal medicine/addiction specialist and prolific broadcaster has imbued him with the rare ability to examine any issue through the lenses of practical experience, scientific evidence, and pragmatism.
A psychologist, attorney, author, and mother, Dr. Lisa Strohman established Digital Citizen Academy to help keep families safe from online dangers. Her background working as a visiting scholar with the profiling unit at the FBI during one of the most tragic school shootings in the U.S. helped create her passion to help proactively prevent and educate students, educators, and parents on issues related to technology.
